It was a matter of time when people realized that Incandescent lighting is very power consuming and it's been many years since fluorescent lighting is used all over the world. But as technology advances, new technology is introduced with a motive that it will have certain benefits over the previous technologies. Thus, LED lighting was introduced and it was proved to be economical moreover, LED is winning a lot of attention in the market.

Fluorescent lighting is now currently being replaced with LED lighting due to certain benefits. Fluorescent lights consume more electric power than LED technology , the reason is that it uses a glass tube with two metal contacts at each end and inside that tube an inert gas is filled. So when it is turned on, electricity passes through those electrical contacts make a connection through the tube.  While LED stands for light emitting diode so it does not contain any gas or filament of bulb, but only a semiconductor P-N junction which produces light in a diode, which is a solid and is one of the reasons that LED are more durable than any other source for lighting. Long Life (Operational Hours):

LED lights have a long operational life of 50,000 hours. It is one of the factor that makes it durable and long lasting. Whereas other lights have hardly a lifespan of average 20,000 hours.

Eco – Friendly:

They are eco-friendly and do not emit carbon dioxide . While other lights emit carbon dioxide.

Brightness:

LED lights emit white bright light and they have high levels of brightness. While other lights do not have a bright white light.

CRI:

Colour Rendering Index of LED Lights is also good than other lighting schemes

Energy Friendly:

LED lights consume very less energy or they produce high lumen output at a low wattage. This is the most biggest advantage of LED lighting over other traditional lights.

Low Heat:

LED Lights donot emit much heat they emit low heat than other lights.

Noisy Operation:

Other lights have a noisy operation where one can hear the sound of light choke or ballast which emits a specific noise of operation. But LED lights don’t produce any sound.

Maintenance Cost:

As LED lights perform better and longer than any other lighting LED lights have the lowest maintenance cost than other lights as LED’s perform for a longer period of time. While other needs replacement or maintenance after a short period of time.
