LED lighting is the most eco-friendly, clean and energy saving technology introduced to word of illumination. Besides these LED lighting has other benefits which intrigues the consumer to invest in this technology knowing that it is going to be a large investment. Fluorescent lighting is still in the market and is preferred due to cost effectiveness. While every technology has its advantages and disadvantages it seems that LED lighting technology is attracting a lot of customers attention.

LED lighting is an expensive investment initially than other traditional lighting, but it provides long term benefits in the form of electricity saved and replacement costs . Due to their long lifespan LED lights are preferred in high roof buildings where replacement of lights costs more time and money. Fluorescent lights contain hazardous materials like mercury and also has a huge carbon footprint, LED lighting technology on the other hand is environmentally friendly and does not contain mercury. Also, it produces less carbon dioxide. LED lighting is much safer and does not produce much heat, according to a report LED lighting produces about 3 BTU’s per hour of heat while  incandescent lighting produces 85 BTUs/ hour and fluorescent 30 BTUs per hour of heat. This clearly shows that LED lighting produces very less heat or very less power is dissipated as heat in LED lighting whereas in incandescent bulb 80% of power is dissipated as heat energy.

LED lights have very high Lumen per watt output there are LED that can produce 90-100lm per watt and 140-160 lm per watt which is why it is very good for lighting approach than any other lighting , most of which does not produce more than 80 lm per watt output. LED’s are therefore superior than all other lighting technologies. Moreover, LED lights emit almost zero UV rays, that’s why LED lighting does not harm any goods sensitive to UV rays. Also, due to their light out and small, compact size designing LED lighting is quite flexible and easy. LED light’s high Lumen out it replaces fluorescent lighting at a very low wattage which save energy. LED lights save almost 70% of electricity which is one of the reasons that industrial and commercial zones have started investing/using LED lighting technology. This not only saves the production cost to industries, but also increases the profit margin.
